I’ve been knitting and crocheting since I was young. About seventeen years ago I picked up knitting and crocheting again and I have never stopped. I make everything from lace shawls to hats to amigurumi. I learned to spin too and have my own wheel and a collection of spindles. I taught crochet and worked in a yarn shop for a number of years. About five years ago I started learning to sew. For the last few years I’ve been adding to my knowledge and I really enjoy making my own clothes.
A number of years ago I also started to draw and paint. My preference is for watercolour but I also love to draw in ink.
I used to have a blog here on blogger and wordpress but when I had my daughter I found I didn’t have time for both blogging and crafting. So I chose my crafts. The advent of social media also meant that blogs weren’t as big a thing anymore. Now though it seems like the social media sites are ruled by the whims of algorithms and billionaires and maybe it’s better to have your own little corner of the internet. I’m hoping that here I can go into my projects in a little more detail than I get to over on social media.
