February Fabric Shopping In Kilkenny

Back in February I did some fabric shopping in Kilkenny city. I had never been to Threads Of Green so my mum and I went to check it out. They have a good selection of craft cottons and some dress making fabric. It's not a huge shop so they hang samples of the fabric which means you can see and feel them all. There is a good selection of notions too.

I got 3m of cotton sateen, it's an aqua blue with a flower print. I also got remnant of about 1.2m of a green double gauze and some light cotton jersey in turquoise. I have made clothes out of all of these so I will post about them eventually. I got a clover brand seam ripper and it's amazing. Much better than any cheapo seam ripper I'd used before. Do yourself a favour and get one.

From Threads Of Green we headed into the city to Michael Guiney's. The upstairs has a big selection of fabric. Much of it is polyester blends which I don't love but it is good value. I got some polyester with a lovely print and some bag making fabric. Downstairs I got a quilt which I was hoping to turn into a coat. I've used all of these fabrics since the visit too.

Both shops are definietly worth a look if you are in Kilkenny.
