Halloween Doodle MIttens

My daughter loves fingerless mittens and the last mittens I knit for her were getting small. She also loves halloween so I decided to do a colourwork pair of fingerless mittens for her. I love the Pacific Knit Company doodle system for colourwork like this. You pick a base pattern and then the colourwork charts all fit into the pattern so it makes it easy to design your own colourwork. 

I used the fingerless mitten base pattern. Then my daughter picked out some motifs from the autumn 2 doodle pack. I have a stash of Drops karisma yarn from Winnie's Craft Cafe in several colours so we picked out some suitably spooky ones. I printed out the chart and coloured it in. I used small diameter circular needles and double pointed needles. These flew up because I love knitting colourwork and seeing the patterns appear was a lot of fun, I mean just look at those ghosts! I finished them just in time for halloween. My daughter was really happy with them. Look out for more doodle patterns in my next post.
