Scandi Meadow Blanket

After I made the Gift Of Christmas blanket I had leftover yarn and I thought maybe I could do another blanket. Since I enjoyed the pattern so much I looked on the Made By Anita website to see what other blanket patterns she had for sale. I fell in love with the Scandi Meadow blanket, I love the modern design and the dark blue background. My new sofa is blue so the design would go perfectly with it. We have a big painting over the sofa so I chose colours that would tone in with it. I went to the Blanchardstown wool shop and picked out some Stylecraft special DK. I added a dark navy and one or two other balls but a lot of the yarn was from my previous stash.

Like Anita's other patterns the instructions are really good so even a begineer could tackle this blanket. She also has tutorials for many of her blankets on her youtube channel. I found the video useful when I wanted to check I was doing a step correctly like when you crochet the background onto the stems of the flowers. This blanket was a lot of fun to make especially the grogeous flowers. The border is quite large and adds a nice effect too. I think it looks great.

Here's a few in progress photos.
