Reynolds Top
It was quite warm this summer so I thought a vest top would be a good make. I had a small length of green double gauze that I got in Kilkenny. I decided to make the Reynolds top from Helen's Closet Patterns. Helen's Closet are my favourite pattern company. Her designs suit my style and the sizing seems to fit me perfectly with no adjustments. The designs tend to be classic slightly casual basics that I go to again and again. I wasn't as sure about the Reynolds as I don't usually wear strappy tops. But this has wide straps which I think is nicer on me also the pattern doesn't use much fabric. Unfortunately there wasn't enough of the green fabric to make a top with sleeves.
This was a nice quick make. The shaping in the back and the darts combine to give it a flattering fit. The double gauze is really comfortable definitely a fabric I will work with again. It's something I would make again as I can see it being wearable in the summer with maybe a jacket or cardigan over it. I'm still not sure about the dress view but again that shaping might mean that it would look well.
